Talent on the Move - Using OWL to Spot Important Team Changes

Notable new roles across public and private managers

OWL’s people data makes it easy to spot the moves that matter most: who joined or left a high-profile manager, which managers are building new teams, and where teams are turning over. In OWL, you can see these changes directly on the dashboard and also receive email alerts as they’re disclosed.

In Friday’s customer newsletter, we shared a list of notable hires and departures from the last few months to show the types of signals OWL surfaces – valuable for intel on managers you already know, and for spotting potential spinouts. A few of those are included below. If you’re interested in learning more about how to track team changes in OWL, reach out!

  • Scott Leslie, Managing Director at Third Point, and Mark Rogers, Partner/Investor at Soroban left their firms in June and are now the co-founders of Shoten Capital.

  • Baker Brothers hired Gabe Gelman as Head of Capital Solutions; he was previously at Goldman Sachs for 26 years in Equity Capital Markets. Baker Brothers also hired Jenny Wood as Head of Capital Formation; she was previously the CMO at Third Point.
